Around Nainital :                                                                                                                  Excursions :
China Peak :
The highest peak in the region, 5km from Nainital, is about 2.5 hrs. Walk from the top(2610m ) there are stunning views of the Himalayan peaks & Nainital town. One can either trek or go on horse back.

Dorothy seat/ Tiffin top :
A 4 km. walk 1.5 hrs. to the west brings one to this point, which offer an excellent view of Nainital and surrounding. From here, a 45 min. Picturesque trek leads one to land's End (2100m) through a forest of oak, deodar and pine. This is a cliff, offering an excellent aerial view of khurpatal lake and terraced field. It is accessible by horse also.

Golf Course : 
One of the best golf course in India, it is an 18-hole course. Prior permission is required for visiting / playing.

Hanumangarhi :
This is a temple, 3kmSouth of Nainital, and offers a very picturesque view of the setting sun.

High Altitude Zoo : 
Perched at an altitude of 2075m, 1.5km from the mail the zoo is high altitude animals & birds, especially the Siberian Tiger.

Himalayan Darshan :
On the way to Kilbury, this spot offer a magnificent view of Himalayas ranges.

Khurpa Tal : 
12km from Nainital, this is a small lake, a paradise for anglers.

Kilbury : 
12km from the Nainital, t his is an idea place for a picnic. It is part of a forest reserve and is rich in flora and wildlife.

Naina Devi Temple : 
This is the temple from which this hill resort derives it's name, and is situated at Mallital, on the lake side.

Other Activities : 
One can rent boat from a number of places along the Mail. The Yacht Club offers yachting enthusiasts, yachts on hire. Nainital is an officially notified Bird Sanctuary and an idea place to pursue this activity. For adventure- lovers, Para, gliding and mountaineering are also on offer.

Snow View : 
There is a ropeway from Mallital end to this peak (2270m), a popular vantage point offering a panoramic view of Himalayan range
